Environmentally Friendly Disposable Diapers
The days of the old disposable diaper are no more. What does that mean? Traditional disposable diapers have had a major upgrade that directly benefits the Earth. No more disposable diapers filling up our landfills with toxic human waste and non-biodegradable plastics. Science has made it possible to have more environmentally friendly disposable diapers that can be flushed down your toilet or even composted in your backyard.
Environmentally friendly disposable diapers come in two basic kinds: eco-friendly diapers or flushable diapers. What are the differences? Eco-friendly diapers are used just like any disposable diaper with the exception of being made out of recycled products. Using recycled products makes these diapers more environmentally friendly. Diaper manufacturers use recycled paper and plastics to make their diapers. These manufacturers also go a step further by not using chemicals of perfumes. Some of the chemicals that are left out of the manufacturing process are chlorine, perfumes, dyes, or gels. All of these chemicals can be harmful to the environment.
Flushable diapers are the premiere in environmentally friendly disposable diapers. Flushable diapers have two parts. A reusable waterproof outer layer and a flushable inner liner. The inner liner is made of recycled wood pulp. This liner can be flushed down the toilet or throw onto the compost pile. A word of warning though: only wet liners can be composted, soiled liners need to be flushed because on the health hazards of human fecal matter. It is the recycled wood pulp liner that makes these environmentally friendly disposable diapers.
When choosing a diaper cost is a priority. Environmentally friendly disposable diapers do have a slightly higher cost.
