Different Styles of Cloth Diapers
The cloth diaper has undergone a face lift throughout the years. There are many more options and styles of cloth diapers available than ever before. There are three basic styles of cloth diapers. The three different styles of cloth diapers are flat, fitted, and all in ones.
Flat cloth diapers are your traditional cotton diapers which are folded to fit your baby and secured with safety pins. Flat cloth diapers do come in two different variations. These two variations are pre-folded and contoured. The pre-folded diapers have an extra piece a layering in the center to make the diaper more absorbent. Contoured cloth diapers are much like the flat cloth diaper except they are a little more stream lined or contoured to fit your baby more snuggly.
Fitted cloth diapers are a step up from the contoured cloth diapers. These diapers have elastic in the waistband for a tighter fit and have ready to use straps that utilize velcro to secure the diaper instead of using safety pins. These are more like a disposable diaper but need a waterproof cover to keep any moisture off your babies clothes.
All in one diapers (AIO) are another one of the different styles of cloth diapers. The all in one cloth diapers have a built in water barrier and just like the fitted cloth diapers uses velcro straps to secure the diaper. The major benefit of an AIO diaper is you just need one thing to change a diaper because the diaper, water cover, and straps are all together.
One of the newest styles of cloth diapers are pocket diapers. Pocket diapers combine the waterproof cover and have a ultra absorbent material. This absorbent material can be formed to fit snugly and can be adjusted to different levels of absorbency. This is a tremendous benefit especially at night or if you have a heavy wetter. Other reasons why pocket diapers are a favorite of parents is after washing, they dry faster than a traditional diaper and can be purchased in different sizes.
